D2L is the door to your classroom

Here you will meet with teachers and fellow students. To log on, use your school user name and password (the same ones you use for MavMail).

D2L

When you enter into D2L you will see links to your class or classes. You will also see all of your previous classes and any subclasses that the school offers to students of particular degrees. Theses sub-classes provide you with information you may find interesting or helpful.

Enter a class:

Click on the name and number provided for that particular class.

From here you can select what you need regarding your class.

1. Course Home

In Course Home you can find all of the assignments and any information your teacher has posted for students. You should check your Course Home every day to see if your teacher has added any new assignments, deadlines, class meetings, or instructions.

2. Content

In Content you’ll find further instructions on class assignments. Click on any of the links your teacher has provided to find the details about the assignment such as specific milestones or deadlines, turn-in dates, rubrics, and expectations.

3. Discussions

In Discussions you can converse with fellow students and your teacher. You’ll likely find yourself spending most of your time here talking about assignments and posting messages.

4. Chat

In chat you can have chat conversations within your class.

5. Dropbox

In the Dropbox you’ll find specific assignments names and deadlines your teacher has posted for students to “drop” assignments when turning them in. You can make comments or ask questions when turning in your work. Your teacher can also use the Dropbox to make comments about your graded assignments.

  • Click on the Dropbox button.
  • Click on the assignment name.
  • Click on “Add File” and find your assignment in your computer files.
  • Make comments in the comment box if you want.
  • Click “Submit.”

6. Quizzes

In Quizzes your teacher may post a test for students. Click on the link to open the quiz your teacher wants you to take.

7. Surveys

In Surveys you’ll find any surveys your teacher wants you to fill out. Click on the link to open the survey your teacher wants you to take.

8. Grades

In Grades you’ll find all those As you’ve worked so hard to make (OK, maybe not all As, but hopefully!). Your teacher will list all of your assignments and the grades he or she has given you.

9. Classlist

In Classlist you’ll see all of your classmates and your teacher. Click on each name and you’ll see contact information plus any information the student has posted about himself for herself.

10. Groups

In Groups you’ll find your entire class and a bulk email link to write to everyone in your class at one time. This time-saving link allows you to contact everyone without having to look up each and every address.
